Welcome to my art site! My name is Bethany Touhey, and I'm the creative mind behind Brand New Eyes Artwork.

So, who exactly am I? And what do I do? What's up with the name "Brand New Eyes"?
​
I am a traditional artist, which means that I love to create things with my hands, a piece of paper, and my imagination. I went to college for an Art Major, and I have been actively pursuing a career in art since I was 15. I believe that art has the power to be universally appreciated, explored and used to inspire and make a difference in the lives of others and our world.

I create custom artwork for clients, as well as teaching group painting classes, running tables at local art shows, and have plans for a future Youtube channel!
​
When I was in one of my first classes, my teacher talked about seeing the world with "Artist's eyes"...seeing the beauty in everyday things, catching what others might miss...and that's the beauty of art. Every artist sees the world differently-and we all want to be able to express what's inside us...how we see the world.

I believe that God gives each of us a unique drive to want to create and explore-to connect with the world and show who we are. When I look at the world through His eyes, and filter my creative passion through the Creators lens- I see the world through Brand New Eyes.

STARVING ARTIST ART SHOW
April 7th, 2018
My first ever art show! This event is a charity event and takes place every year at La Vilita in downtown San Antonio. While I struggled with inclement weather and low print sales, I did make a lot of connections with other artists and learned a lot about what it takes to sell art at a public event!
ALAMO CITY COMIC CON
October 26-28th 2018
This was my first experience having an art table at a convention! Unfortunately, me and my husband along with all the other local artists, were victims of poor event placement. (Table on 5th floor of multilevel building-practically invisible)Â
Despite this, I did make some sales, and meet some awsome local artists;plus I got to dress up all 3 days :p
We all have a reason we create.
